If you do feel this way about returning to
the workplace, try the following
Acknowledge the change
Ultimately, unless you have negotiated
otherwise, you will be returning to the
office in some capacity. It’s important to
accept this reality and not to deny the
inevitable change in work routine.
Understand that it’s OK to feel anxious
and uncertain about change. You certainly
won’t be alone in feeling anxious about
returning to the office. Reach out to
friends, family or colleagues who are
facing the same scenario and offer
support for each other during this time.
Reframe your thoughts
Catch yourself when you find your mind
drifting towards negative thoughts and
emotions around returning to the office.
Instead, switch your thinking to all the
things you are excited about.
Take it slow
If you’re worried about returning to the
workplace, don’t dive straight in. If you
feel comfortable, talk to your manager
and request that you slowly increase
the number of days you come into the
office over time.
