When Employees Feel Their
Organisation Cares
Perception matters.
Employees who strongly
agree that their organisation
cares about their overall
wellbeing are 54% less likely
to be looking for another
job, 3.2 times less likely to
report frequent burnout,
65% more likely to be
thriving and 4.6 times as
likely to be engaged at work.
They are also 6.2 times as
likely to strongly advocate
for their organisation as a
place to work.
This highlights an important
point. Wellbeing is shaped
not only by the availability of
initiatives, but also by how
employees experience their
workplace every day.
Engagement Needs Wellbeing
Engagement and wellbeing
reinforce one another. Engagement
can strengthen day-to-day work
experiences, while wellbeing helps
employees sustain engagement
over time. Employees who are both
engaged and thriving demonstrate
greater adaptability and resilience
than those who are engaged but
have low wellbeing.
Gallup found that engaged
employees who are not thriving
are 61% more likely to experience
frequent burnout, 48% more likely
to report daily stress, 66% more
likely to experience daily worry
and twice as likely to report daily
sadness and anger.
In simple terms, engagement can
drive effort, but wellbeing helps
sustain it.
