Wearables are still huge (and Australia is
watching the numbers)
Wearable technology remains a major trend,
including trackers and smart watches that
monitor heart rate, sleep, sitting time,
temperature and more.
The best part of wearables is not the
data itself. It is the nudge. Steps.
Reminders. Sleep trends. A
gentle reality check when your
“I was active today” was
mainly walking to
the kettle.
Mobility and recovery is
no longer optional
Mobility and recovery training has
entered the Top 20 as a new trend,
combining active mobility work
with recovery techniques like foam
rolling and release work to improve
movement ef昀椀ciency and reduce
muscle tension.
Translation: people are 昀椀nally
treating recovery like it is part of
training, not something you do only
when you are injured.
HIIT is still here, just a little less
“punishing”
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
is still on the list, de昀椀ned as short,
hard efforts with recovery periods,
often including explosive movements.
But the report also notes “HIIT
softens” in the broader picture,
which 昀椀ts what many people are
feeling: you can get 昀椀tter without
smashing yourself every session.
