If you do catch the flu, rest, stay hydrated, and avoid spreading it to others. Flu antivirals are
available but work best if taken within the first 48 hours of symptoms starting—so see your GP
quickly if you’re in a high-risk group.
Flu Season in the Post-COVID World
The flu has been around forever, but the post-COVID world has changed how we approach
respiratory illnesses. With flu cases surging again, it’s clear we need to stay vigilant.
Get vaccinated—even if you’re young and healthy, the flu can be brutal.
Recognise the symptoms—and get tested if you’re unsure whether it’s flu or COVID-19.
Look after yourself and others—especially the more vulnerable members of our community.
While we may not be wearing masks and social distancing anymore, the lessons from the
pandemic still hold—good hygiene, vaccination, and community care will always be our best
weapons against the flu.
